And yes another Tetricup won by Spindizzy but firstly come back to the tourney...

...After a so long time without Tetricup, i was wondering if the system was still good.
24 players for this cup, I'm quite happy of the number of players cause I didn't expect so many people at first sight. Even some new players in it and that is cool.

About the group round. I chose to create 4 groups of 6 players. Better than 8*3, yes I know I'm good at calculation ;o). So with 4 qualified in each group, everybody can have a chance.

I won't speak so much about group to do not say: I don't speak about it :op. Just that only two players won all their games : Spindizzy and TAK.

1/8 finales :

1/4 finales:
now the tourney really starts with big games
Spindizzy won over a shaky SuperGundam, frozen by the pression of the game (see report).
Dańce with a sucky keyboard and playing around 40-42 ppm (at least against me, see round before the crush i got in my face :op) couldn't manage Goofer and lost his game 5-3.
batsun. who lost the charming LiCkaBLeAZN in group, didn't seem anymore charmed and take the victory on a very close score 5-4.
And Jochen couldn't follow the crazy (crazy in the good meaning of course ;o) ) japanese TAK and lost 5-3.

In semi-final, we can say we have a surprise! What is batsun. doing here ?? This guy knew only the spec 2:1 before ;o). But anyway, he finished by loosing TAK in a crazy game, 5-4 again.
Spindizzy crushed simply Goofer 5-0.

For the 3rd place we got an exhausted batsun., after his two 5-4 games and a rested Goofer, after his 5-0 lost ;o). So Goofer won 5-0 easily, it seems.

In finale, Spindizzy got a good resistance, TAK was coming back in the game but Spin managed him all along, and kept the leading of the game until the end to finally won 5-3. That is the closest game of Spindizzy in Tetricup. Maybe next time he could loose ;o).

I remind you that I haven't watched any games (except mines of course). So all stuff I said is just suppositions.

Anyway, thanks for every players for participating the Tetricup. After 5 months, the tourney seems always funny for people and I'm glad of that.

We were few players (24) for this 25th edition of the Tetricup but there were no newbies in it, only confirmed ones and so it was kind of hard in some of the group to get a good position. I was happy to discover some good players I didn't know before also (bootylicious, MissK, killahertz).
The creation of groups started with a bug, cool !! So after fixing it, we began 15 minutes late.

Group round

According to me the group A was the hardest with spindizzy, bootylicious, DeLorean, *alex*, Olivier19 and gamereplay. Without no so much surprises, spindizzy ended 1st. But the two last ones failed in it and there are not noobs, as I know.

Teemu leaded the group B. Then LiCkaBLeAZN did a good round finishing 2nd and Zworg ended 3rd. Bounce did well too, as I know he hadn't played for quite much time. Blunt and taximen out.

The group C, the one where I was, was a little hard with Goofer, MissK, Jett. But logically the two average players Le_Disciple and Wallace weren't qualified to playoffs :op.
The classement: 1.Goofer; 2.MissK; 3.Jett; 4.DUP.

The last group was a good one too with avarice managing it followed by aspiln, killahertz and Jochen selected for playoffs. Bizarre and cats69 out.

I think there were not so much surprises in the round group. Maybe Olivier19 and blunt were a little disappointing.

The 1/8 finale

Only one 5-0 with Goofer and Bounce.
Then quite much 5-1 between spindizzy and jochen, MissK and zworg, Jett and LiCkaBLeAZN, avarice and *alex*, bootylicious and killahertz.
Only two close games between DeLorean and aspiln 5-3, me (DUP) and Teemu 5-4 which was a tough game for me as I was losing 4-2 and it was a revenge from another Tetricup where I lost him 5-1. Note: I love to play Teemu cause it's a very nice and friendly player :o).

The quarter finale

Spindizzy crushed DeLorean on the 5-1 score. It seems he loves losing one game.
I personally lost against MissK 5-2 after leading 2-0. I was quite impressed by this girl who plays very well and with a good speed (42-43ppm) after only 2 months of tetrinet as she told me.
Jett played well and won over goofer 5-3. I haven't seen the game, but according to the score, I guess it was a tough game.
And finally bootylicious stopped and avarice went on.

The semifinals

The two semi-finales ended on the same score 5-1 (one again for spin).
Spindizzy got some tough games against MissK, I watched it. But as we know spindizzy, even if sometimes, it seems he can loose, he doesn't.
I can say jett was quite disappointing on this round to loose with so much difference against avarice. Maybe he was tired of his last round against goofer ;o).

I haven't seen it as I was watching the finale. Jett won 5-1 MissK

Avarice played well first games but let the score running away and spindizzy won his 3rd tetricup but the first one in 1vs1.


I'd like to thank all people who say "thanks for the Tetricup" at the end of a Tetricup. Cause it makes all the organization friendlier for me. And it's always nice when you make efforts to get that kind of thanks.
I guess there are not so much mistakes, cause I'm not a native English speaking person and I'm quite sleepy right now writing it :op
